"A Worship Service Is About Me" Perhaps one of the greatest misunderstandings in the church today is the concept that "I am going to the worship service" meaning that I will go and have someone (hopefully) lead me to a point of worshiping God. And the misunderstanding continues with the concept that "worship" is only when we sing - and then the other things (prayer, message, communion, etc.) are just a part of "the service". Our misunderstanding may continue when we leave the "worship service" by commenting how good/bad it was for us. But worship is perhaps the key component to a Christ followers' life. Worship that happens every day. Worship that is essential and real. Worship that focuses on the adoration and pleasing of God. And worship that isn't about us - but about God.
