"God's Light or the Limelight?" Matthew 2:1-12 We don't know the names to this day. The Magi, those first century astronomers who somehow know about a king that was making his arrival on earth. All we know is that they wanted to honor this new king. But the only way to find him was to ask another king where to go. The problem was that the king in Jerusalem was a jealous liar. It would have been easy to fall prey to the limelight instead of being faithful to God's light. The Magi are well off, and they could have been in the good graces of a powerful King Herod.
