The Greatest Promise

John 3:1-21
One of the most well-known and even memorized verses in all of scripture is John 3:16. What most Christ followers don't know is that the words were actually spoken late at night to a Pharisee named Nicodemus.
Nick is searching. Nick can see in Christ something greater and deeper than his own legalism and rule following, so he sets up a clandestine meeting one night to have a talk with Jesus. It puts Nicodemus' reputation at risk, but he has to know.
And it is here that Christ challenges Nick to go deeper, to know that God wants everyone - even Nicodemus - to be saved. And the only way that can happen is through Jesus, the Messiah.
All people search for meaning and purpose and eternity. Will they accept God's gift of Jesus Christ, or not? (See also 7:50-52)
