John 15:18-16:4 — Culturally it is becoming more and more common to see Christians mocked, or Christianity marginalized. And for some of us, that seems to be a surprise. But Christ lets His followers know that if society treated Him as it did, His followers could expect some of the same. Why? Because we stand for a different value system. We recognize an Absolute Authority. We worship a risen Savior. And the world doesn't understand. Even more, they don't like it. So don't be surprised if the world hates you. Jesus says if they hated Him, they hate God as well. Christ doesn't promise that all will go smoothly for us. He promises just the opposite. But He tells us to stay strong and live a life that honors God.
