John 21:15-19 –  Our identity is not in where we live, what we wear or where we work. Our identity is in Christ Jesus and who we are in Him - how we live for Him everyday. In this final chapter of John, we see Jesus identify Peter as the foundation of His church. Simon Peter had traveled with Jesus for three years. He saw miracles, listened to the teachings, and was an eye witness to Christ's resurrection. Yet, Simon Peter blew it when his fears got the best of him and he denied Christ - three times. Simon Peter needed this visit with Christ; he needed restoration after his failure. We too need to know that God isn't finished with us because of our sin. He wants to forgive and use us for His glory.
